Cleansing the Aura

Throughout each day, our aura comes into contact with people, places and things.  And as the day progresses we gradually pick up ‘pyschic dirt’.  This process is akin to working the entire day, accumulating physical dirt and coming home to take a shower.  What would happen if you never took a shower?  Treat your aura the same way.

I’ve found through my experience, working with clients and my daily psychic hygiene that there are many different ways to clear the aura.  Some are more effective than others, and it’s my goal here to provide you with what is the most effective.

Each of these techniques can be practiced daily or whenever you feel guided.  For those that are more sensitive (i.e. empaths, healers, psychics, shamans) there’s a responsibility to keep the aura free and clear of debris so that one does not get bogged down by all the”schmootz”. That is why cleansing the aura is of the utmost importance.

Each day when I wake up and when I get home.  I sage myself. This is my go to step for cleansing the aura. Sage has been traditionally used for clearing space, but it also works well for nullifying any unwanted energies in your energy field.  I suggest buying a sage spray as its the safest and works just as well as the smoke.

Salt Baths

I usually take 20 to 40 minutes in the evening or as you feel guided, using a 1/2 a pound to a pound of either epson salt, scented bath salt, or himalayan salt.  I’ve found that the salt really clears any unwanted energies off the aura.  If you’re pressed for time, don’t have a bath, or don’t like taking baths.  Try using the salt all over your body during a shower.

Tingsha Bells

Who would have thought that sound would work, but it does.  I love genuine tingsha bells(the fake one’s have a’tinny’ sound  to them).  In addition, real tingsha bells are made of seven different metals.  The bells help to re-align the chakras and at the same time creating waves of sound carrying out any disharmonious energy.

There are a plethora of ways to keep the aura free and clear of debris.  These are the few that I’ve found the most effective.  Try a combination of these techniques or one at a time and find what works best for you.

Remember, a clean aura is also refelected in the physical.  So treat all of you with love and care.

How Can I Clear My Stones and Crystals?

First off before working with a stone.  Make sure that it is cleansed.  If you have purchased one from a store or received it as a gift from a friend it may hold disharmonious energy.

One of my favorite ways to cleanse a stone is moonlight.  Full moonlight works the best as it will not only cleanse them, it will re-charge them, and the stones love it.  One to two hours will do in un-obstructed full moon light.  You can place them on a window sill or under a skylight if you don’g have a backyard.

An oldie but goodie is sage.  Sage has been traditionally used to cleanse space, yet it works just as well at clearing the energy of stones.  Hold the sage under the stone and allow the smoke to latch on, releasing the unwanted energies.  Ten to Fifteen seconds should do.  If you aren’t a fan of smoke, try using a sage spray or a purifying insence such as dragon’s blood or amber.

Un-cooked organic brown rice…I know it doesn’t sound possible yet it works.  The rice is not cooked as it still contains life energy.  The rice not only absorbs negativity, but helps to charge it as well.  Get a deep bowl fill it with rice and submerge the stones/crystals for at least one hour.  Every two months throw out and replace the rice.   A great tip:  Please don’t eat it.  Remeber it has been used to clear any negativity off your stones.

There are many other ways to cleanse stones and these are only a few.  Try them out, and see what works best for you.

Clearing Your Space

When you move into a house, apartment or condominium you should clear the space  before you move in.  When a residence has been previously inhabited most times there is energy residue from the former occupants or predeccessor.  Many of us have walked inside a space and felt uneasy, heaviness in the air and others may actually have an emotional reaction.  Just because you can’t see it doesn’t mean that it’s not there.  I have used several techniques for this.  Figure out which way works best for you as there is no right way.

  • Salt–  Sprinkle salt in the corners and leave for a day.  Simply vaccuum or sweep up the salt when finished.
  • Sound– You can use Tibetan ting-sha bells, crystal tuner or music.  Sound is a very physical vibration and anything that doesn’t match the sound will be carried away. This is my favorite technique for clearing a hotel room since smoke isn’t  usually allowed.  If  you are using music, play classical or meditation music as it has an extremely high vibration and acts as a balm to the environment.
  • Purifying incense or sage– There are some that inence that are sage infused and others infused with Dragon’s blood or both.  Walk through the entire house, making sure to open up any cabinets, closets and drawers before hand.  I suggest opening the windows so that the energy is able to leave.  If you are burning sage, know that it nullifies energy(negative or positive).  Burn cedar, sweetgrass or anything with a sweet smell to bring the healing energy back into the enviroment.

I encourage you to come up with your own process.  These techniques can be used by themselves or all together.  Once you have begun your space clearing regimen, once a month will keep your space clear of any stagnant or unwanted energy.
